This probably isn’t this best way to go about things now, as there are plenty of jQuery plugins and image sliders that have this built in. Take a look at http://jgestures.codeplex.com/, maybe you can use that.

Thanks for the awesome tutorial. Really simple to understand. However, i can’t get the demo to work properly on the ipad. I can force it to slide with a weird combo of tapping and sliding, but nothing more. Have you tweaked things since you wrote this? Is this still the best way of going about things? Cheers, Yukon
